Hounslow for Business was established in May 2005. It was the result of Hounslow Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Unit at Hounslow Local Authority agreeing to create a locally managed, locally delivered business advice service in the Borough. Hounslow for Business was then set up as a subsidiary
of Hounslow Chamber of Commerce to be the business arm of the Chamber.
In October 2006 Hounslow for Business successfully tendered to be the delivery partner for the West London Business Consortium to provide business advice and support services in Hounslow. The services are free from charge as a result of targeted government funding from the London Development Agency as part of its commitment to encourage enterprise and support jobs in the capital. In the year to March 2009 Hounslow for Business met all the targets set for it by the LDA. In particular it helped 22 people into business and held over 100 business support sessions for existing businesses from which 9 jobs were created or saved. In total, in the 12 months to March 2009, HfB held nearly 300 client advice sessions. So if you are looking to start up your own business or are already in business and need some advice please do make use of these valuable services on your door step.
While our focus is Hounslow borough, Hounslow for Business can help people and businesses based across West London. All our advisors are experienced in their field and are accredited by the SFEDI business support framework www.sfedi.co.uk. Hounslow for Business has been awarded the Customer First mark (www.customerfirst.org) which demonstrates that the organisation is committed to a high quality business support service.
While our core service is the provision of business advice to start-ups and mentoring
for business owners of existing businesses, HfB is also integrated to all of the other publicly funded services offered by its partner enterprise agencies. As a result HfB offers valuable sign-posting services to other business advice programmes and enterprise agencies. Currently two key programmes that existing business can take advantage of are Access to Finance and the Leadership and Management grant. For more detail look at What's New.
